Make an appointment to learn how to read the Bible or how to pray. A free 15 minute session with a trained spiritual director and pastoral counselor may be just what you need. Contact us.
There are many ways to pray and read the Bible. Often times, the urge to learn a new way to pray and read the Bible marks a moment in life that could offer something more. What is your schedule like? What kind of time commitment can you make? Do you want a small bit or to dig deeper? What was it that made you decide that today is the day to learn to pray or read the Bible?
Our seminary trained spiritual directors can help you figure out why God decided to urge you to learn to pray or read the Bible. They are trained and have the experience to figure out what type of prayer or way to read the Bible will help you through your particular context, your spiritual history, and your current life events. They are also trained in brief pastoral counseling.
Check our our page on Spiritual Direction to see if this is for you. There are videos about Spiritual Direction and its benefits on this page. We usually ask you to make a donation that is dependent upon your financial means to compensate our spiritual director for their time and training. You can send a contact form to our spiritual direction staff and someone will contact you to schedule a time.
Or, you can check out our Spiritual Practices Starter Book, A Simple Guide to the Spiritual Life, which has ways to begin the prayer life and ways to begin reading the Bible. It costs $6.95 (plus shipping and handling) or $5.95 (for Kindle).
You may want to try out our Bible Prayer Method that uses a system of downloadable or pre-printed bookmarks you place in your Bible that lead you through a structured time of prayer. Check it out here.
