Place and Time are Important
Find or Make a Quiet Space Dedicated to Prayer: Your body will get relaxed and ready to hear God speak more quickly when you return to the same dedicated spot every day.
Meet with God Regularly: Pick a time that works for you: morning, lunch, after work, evening, or at bedtime. Give ten minutes to begin.
Attitude Is Critical
Prayer is a Conversation: God is a person and “prayer” is a way of saying you are having a conversation with God. Conversations include speaking and listening. Devote half your time to talking and half your time to listening. Please, expect an answer.
Prayer is not a list of things for God to do: Prayer is about a relationship with the Creator of the Universe. It is not a laundry list of things for God to do. God knows what you need before you ask. Ask God to show you where is he already meeting your needs.
