Full Bio: Mark Kurowski is a gifted speaker, inspiring preacher and insightful spiritual director who presents the answers to life's questions in an easy to understand way. He speaks from his experience as a pastor in the United Methodist Church and from his experience as a convert to Catholicism. Mr. Kurowski has served parishes in the rural areas and inner cities of North Carolina, Indiana and, most recently, the South Side of Chicago, IL. His inspirational talks and presentations always contain his sincerity of faith, genuine spirit, enthusiasm and comical frankness that have changed hearts, minds and the lives of many.
Mark Kurowski was born on June 11, 1965, in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from John Adams High School, South Bend, IN, in 1983. He attended Indiana University, Bloomington and eventually graduated from Indiana University South Bend in 1992 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science.
He entered the United Methodist Seminary at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina in August of 1992 and the Catholic Seminary in August of 2005. He earned a Master of Divinity Degree at Duke, Graduating "Magna cum Laude," and a Certificate of Studies from Mundelein Seminary, Mundelein, IL.
Receiving a "License to Preach" in the United Methodist Church in 1990, Kurowski began serving two churches in Inwood and Bremen, Indiana as pastor. From there he served Churches in Roxboro, NC, Brookston, IN and Gary, IN before converting to Catholicism. He was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist Church in 1998. Most recently, he was instituted in the ministries of Lector and Acolyte in the Archdiocese of Chicago in 2006.
In 1996, Kurowski received the distinguished "John H. Ness Award" for his article "The First Step Toward Grace: John Wesley's Use of the Writings of Macarius the Great," which was subsequently published in the scholarly journal Church History: Jan. 98. His most recent publication is A Simple Guide to the Spiritual Life, a beginner's guide to spirituality, and he hosts a weekly blog found at http://MySpiritualAdvisor.com.
In 2002, he founded MySpiritualAdvisor.com, LLC and has given spiritual advice and direction to people on five continents.
Mr. Kurowski has appeared as a regular guest apologist on Relevant Radio's former "Searching the Word" and continues his appearances on the show "On Call." He is a regular contributor to Catholic Radio International and has appeared on "The Catholic Connection with Teresa Tomeo" on Ave Maria Radio, SiriusXM Satellite Radio's Catholic Channel show, "Seize the Day," with Gus Lloyd and EWTN's "The Journey Home with Marcus Grodi".
Married to Sandra M. Kurowski in 1988, the Kurowskis have five children ages 20-11. They reside in Northwest Indiana and attend Saint Victor Parish, Calumet City, IL.
